Kyndell Nunley

Kyndell Nunley joined the News 3 team as a reporter in September 2015.

Before joining News 3 Kyndell worked at KBAK/KBFX-TV in Bakersfield, California where she anchored and produced the station's midday newscast, while also reporting for the evening shows. Kyndell additionally worked as the station's fill-in weathercaster.

While in Bakersfield, Kyndell reported on a number of stories ranging from crime to consumer news, but the stories that touched her most were those that helped families in need. A story that will always stick with Kyndell involved a young woman who was killed while on her way home after she was involved in a crash with a suspected drunk driver. The scene of the crash and the reaction from the young woman's family inspired Kyndell to work, in cooperation with California Highway Patrol, on a number of stories which shed light on the issue of deadly drunk driving related crashes in Kern County.

Prior to moving to Bakersfield, Kyndell began her career as a reporter for Time Warner Cable's Channel 3 News in Orange County and as a production assistant at KABC-TV, the No. 1 news station in Los Angeles. Kyndell has also worked as a reporter and multimedia journalist at Patch.com, granting her the valuable dynamic of working in broadcast and online journalism.

Kyndell is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine where she earned a bachelor's degree in political science, emphasis in United States government and law, and a minor in English literature with a focus in journalism. At UCI, Nunley hosted and began a first-of-its-kind campus broadcast while also completing multiple internships at KABC-TV. Kyndell was also a cheerleader at UC Irvine, where she spent many nights cheering on Anteater basketball. Go 'Eaters!

When she's not out in the field you can find Kyndell spoiling her chocolate Labrador, Cookie (she's the cutest dog on planet earth), cheering on her Lakers (wishing next season will be better), or spending time with family and friends (eating and laughing to tears).

If you have a story idea or would just like to say hello, you can find Kyndell on Facebook (KyndellNunley), follow her on Twitter (@KyndellNews3LV), or you can just email her at kdnunley@sbgtv.com.
