Make-A-Wish: Witze Boeykins gets to ride the track at Monster Energy Supercross Cup
This Make-A-Wish Monday, we are featuring Witze Boeykins from Belgium, who is a motocross super fan who trains and rides himself.
Witze suffers from cystic fibrosis, a progressive, genetic disease that limits his ability to breathe and increases his potential to contract infections. Against all odds, Witze is determined to be competitive in the motocross circuit. So his dream to experience the Monster Energy Supercross Cup and meet his hero, Ken Roczen, was an easy choice.
His trip started with an invitation to the Pre-Race Press Conference where a wide-eyed Witze sat in the front row, mere feet from his racing heroes; he received a riding lesson from none other than Ricky Carmichael, the GOAT - the “Greatest of all Time”. And with a smile as wide as the start line, Witze suited up in some 2018 Thor motocross gear aboard a KX250F. Already elated that he had been given the opportunity to travel to the United States to attend the Monster Energy Cup, having the chance to ride on the very same track as the professional riders were the icing on the cake.
