Tools for Schools 2016

It is no secret that the Clark County School District has undergone massive cuts in the past few years. Teachers and staff members have to reach in to their own pockets just to purchase the items that they need to teach in the classrooms.

So how can you help?

News 3 has partnered with Silver State Schools Credit Union, in a campaign called Tools for Schools. Just stop by any of the eight Silver State Schools Credit Union branches in the valley, look for the donation boxes and drop off much needed classroom supplies. All donations will benefit the Public Education Foundation's Teacher Exchange Program.

Below is a list of items they are looking for:

  • Erasers, Post its, Tape
  • Loose Leaf & Copy Paper
  • Pens & Pencils
  • Markers & Crayons
  • Scissors & Staplers
  • Folders, Binders, Notebooks
  • Tissue, Paper Towels
  • Backpacks
  • Calculators
  • Printer/Copier Ink Cartridges

The Teacher Exchange is a re-use and recycle resource center for all Southern Nevada public school teachers offering learning tools to teachers to enhance projects and curriculum. Donations of new and reusable materials office supplies, surplus materials, computers, office equipment and furniture are collected from community businesses and individuals and provided to teachers for use in the classroom.
