Surgeons come together on UNLV campus after treating shooting victims
LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) —
For the first time since a gunman open fire on Las Vegas concert goers, many of the surgeons who rushed in to treat victims gathered for a meeting of the Nevada Chapter of The American College of Surgeons.
The meeting at the Clinical Simulation Center of Las Vegas included special "Stop the Bleed Instructor Training" that enabled participants to review best practices for treating victims of trauma such as gunshot and stab wounds.
American College of Surgeons Nevada Chapter President and UNLV School of Medicine and UMC Trauma surgeon Dr. Deborah Kuhls welcomed the group and helped lead discussions.
UNLV and UMC Trauma surgeon Dr. Douglas Fraser and others conducted "Stop the Bleed."
