6-year-old boy found unresponsive in Cowabunga Bay waves pool

A 6-year-old boy needed life-resuscitating measures after being pulled from the waves pool Sunday evening at Cowabunga Bay.

The incident occurred around 6:20 p.m. at the park near Galleria Drive and North Gibson Road, according to Henderson Fire Department spokeswoman Kathleen Richards. Lifeguards pulled the boy and began CPR before medical personnel arrived.

The child was taken to Henderson Hospital, where it was reported that a pulse was found.

Cowabunga Bay Management released this statement:

"There was a medical incident at the park tonight. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family involved, and we will provide support to the family as needed and requested. We cannot provide further details at this stage as we are in the process of investigating the incident. Please allow us the time needed to investigate the circumstances fully.”
