Body found in rugged terrain in southeast Las Vegas


The remains of a person were found today in a rugged area of southeast Las Vegas.

The discovery was made about two miles south of the intersection of Horizon Ridge Parkway and Ray Avenue in the vicinity of Dutchman Pass Road, and was reported about 8:10 a.m. to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The remains were on BLM land, and were found by LVMPD Search & Rescue officers and volunteers from Red Rock Search & Rescue who were doing a grid search of the area.

The Clark County coroner responded to the scene and the missing persons office was notified.

The name of the person will be released after proper identification and notification of family members.
