People living in a northwest neighborhood are on edge after a string of burglaries hit the community.

Witnesses say a trio of clipboard burglars posing as workers are striking when they know homeowners are gone.

Christy Ackman lives in a neighborhood off of Durango and Alta drives where neighbors say a trio of burglars have hit several homes. The thieves pose with clipboards and act like they are surveying the community. Ackman saw the white van that witnesses say the trio drives around in.

"If I hadn't seen that I might have thought but I've seen the van," said Ackman.

Neighbors put out a flyer to those living on Ampere Lane. The flyer has all the details about the burglars. On one incident, neighbors say two men and a woman broke into a home with dogs inside. The animals didn't scare off the thieves.

Raul Romero says he's also seen the suspicious white van. He fears coming face-to-face with the suspects.

"I'm just scared. Let's just say if it happens to us or happens to an older people, maybe somebody might get hurt," said Romero.

Witnesses describe one of the suspects as a thin girl with long brown hair. The woman is believed to be in her twenties.

Ackman says until the trio is caught, she'll keep an eye out for the white van seen in the neighborhood.

"I actually saw a van today and I started following it. When I came home from lunch turns out just to be the paperboy," said Ackman.
