Coming and going: Local commuters prep for EDC exodus, traffic nightmare
LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) —
The exodus of 135,000 Electric Daisy Carnival attendees Monday morning from Las Vegas Motor Speedway usually brings the worst traffic of the weekend.
Getting into the festival was tough enough this weekend with Interstate 15 limited to two lanes just south of the Speedway.
Patience was not always exercised. The Nevada Highway Patrol had extra troopers out in force to handle everything from traffic control to vehicle breakdowns.
"The later we get on in the evening, the more impatient the more desperate our carnival goers get," said NHP Trooper Jason Buratczuk.
Workers trying to get to their jobs will need to navigate between the partygoers trying to get home.
