Couple face arson charges after garage fire near Durango and Charleston
LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) —
A Las Vegas couple was arrested and charged with arson late Sunday night for allegedly starting a fire in a western Las Vegas valley home.
Colleen Wyse, 53, and Lawrence Camalleri, 71, are being held at the Clark County Detention Center on one count each of first-degree arson, according to a Las Vegas Fire & Rescue news release.
Firefighters responded around 6:45 p.m. to the home on Brocado Lane, near South Durango Drive and West Charleston Boulevard after neighbors reported smoke coming from the garage of a house.
When firefighters arrived, light smoke was showing from the garage of a one-story, wood frame house. Firefighters entered the garage and found what appeared to be a pile of trash burning in the middle of the garage. The fire was extinguished in a minute.
The fire was confined to the garage; the interior of the house was not damaged. Fire damage was estimated at $10,000.
Las Vegas Arson Investigators talked to the two individuals who live in the house. After their conversation, both were arrested and charged with arson.
There were no injuries reported during the incident.
