No charges filed for couple getting intimate on Southwest flight from Atlanta

A couple on Southwest Airlines Flight 3246 from Atlanta to Las Vegas were released without charges Saturday morning after multiple reports of them performing a sexual act.

"Nobody on the flight wanted to file charges," said Lt. John Liberty, watch commander for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. "The flight crew left and did not even file a statement so we have nothing to charge them with. They were identified and all the information will be turned over to the FBI."

Liberty said police did not receive nay video from crew or passengers.

"The reports are they were involved on the flight and were asked to stop and they just couldn't control themselves," said McCarran International Airport spokesman Michael Oram told News 3 before the plane landed. "My understanding is there is video on social media."

The flight arrived at Terminal 1 Gate C8 at 8:10 a.m.

"The only way it would be an FAA issue is if the passengers disobeyed a crew member's instructions," stated FAA spokesman Ian Gregor via email. "When that occurs, the FAA can propose civil penalties against a passenger."
