Brazilian man killed in morning crash at Flamingo Road near Koval
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
A Wednesday morning crash that killed a pedestrian closed East Flamingo Road at the intersection of Koval Lane, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The accident took place around 2:20 a.m.
According to police, the pedestrian was entering the westbound lanes of Flamingo when a black four-door Mercedes-Benz was turning right from Koval onto westbound Flamingo. The pedestrian then climbed on top of the Mercedes-Benz hood. The vehicle proceeded to accelerate west and the pedestrian fell to the road. The vehicle did not remain at the scene and report the incident to police.
The person was transported to Sunrise Hospital with critical injuries, where he later died. He has been identified as 21-year-old Eduardo Osorio from Brazil. As of now, his death is not being considered a traffic-related fatality.
LVMPD's Fatal Detail responded to the scene to investigate following the crash.
