Fraudulent medical marijuana delivery service out of strip club leads to 3 arrests
KINGMAN, Ariz. (KSNV News3LV) —
A couple claiming to operate a medical marijuana delivery service has led to the arrest of three people, according to a Mohave County Sheriff’s Office news release.
John Monteiro, 38, and Jordan Peterman, 25, both of Kingman, and Manuel Williams, 52, of Golden Valley, face multiple charges in connection to a four-month long investigation named “Operation Unfriended.”
During the investigation, detectives with the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET) learned of a large-scale enterprise bypassing the state voter initiative for the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act.
Police say Monteiro and Peterman, who both had medical marijuana cards, claimed they were running a medical marijuana delivery service. They are suspected of selling marijuana from the strip club that Monteiro manages and Peterman is employed, along with their Kingman residence.
More than 25 pounds of marijuana, 15 marijuana plants, five firearms and three pieces of body armor were found during the investigation.
Officials with the Arizona Department of Liquor and Mohave County Building Inspector/Code Enforcement reported numerous violations at the strip club.
Monteiro and Peterman are each being held on $25,000 bond at the Mohave County Jail. Williams is held on a $10,000 bond.
