Hit-and-run driver knocks down pole, triggers gas leak on Simmons near Washburn
NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KSNV News3LV) —
Simmons Street south of West Washburn Street has been closed to traffic Wednesday afternoon after a hit-and-run driver knocked down a pole in a residential area, triggering a gas leak.
The crash occurred around 1:15 p.m., according to Officer Eric Leavitt of the North Las Vegas Police Department.
No injuries were reported. Southwest Gas and the North Las Vegas Fire Department have responded to the scene.
Southwest Gas spokeswoman Sonya Headen said the gas line has been secured and repairs are being made. No customers were affected, and no evacuations were necessary.
