Child dies weeks later after being hit by a car in southwest valley parking lot
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —

On May 9, 2018, the Clark County Coroner's officer says the 2-year-old child that was hit in a southwest valley parking lot died on May 8 at UMC.
The death marked the 42nd traffic related fatality in the LVMPD's jurisdiction for 2018.
The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section.
UPDATE 8:24 P.M.:
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports that the victim is out of surgery at UMC, but her prognosis remains poor. The doctor has described the victim's injuries as "horrific."
The driver reportedly stayed at the scene after the accident. Impairment does not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
A juvenile is "extremely critical" after an auto-pedestrian collision in the southwest valley Monday afternoon.
The child was struck by an unknown vehicle about 3:15 p.m. at 6980 S. Cimmaron Road, in the parking lot of St. Rose Pediatrics, according to Officer Laura Meltzer of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
