The "Golden Misfits" is a nickname given to the Golden Knights.

It’s a team of people who have kicked down the odds and passed by the teams that were willing to give them up. With Sunday's win against Winnipeg, the Golden Knights are one series away from taking it all.

The Golden Knights have turned Las Vegas into a hockey town.

Hundreds of fans visit City National Arena on a daily basis. In recent weeks, a very long line can be seen coming out of the Arsenal; the merchandise shop inside City National Arena.

After the Golden Knights clinched the Western Conference final on Sunday, the Arsenal had about 150 Western Conference Champion shirts in stock but sold out.

On Monday morning, those looking to get their hands on the gear had about an hour experience ahead of them. Half of that time would be spent waiting in line to just get in the store, another 10-15 minutes to get to the cash register.

Despite the long line, fans were more than happy to wait to get a piece of the Las Vegas history. A couple of fans told News 3 they’re hoping this group of misfits takes the cup because it would send a big message to those who were willing to let them go.

“They were thrown out and now they are together beating everybody, it’s incredible,” said Golden Knights fan, Nick Ley,

“We’re so excited that the team is doing this well, we saw the players were wearing these hats last night so we wanted to come out first thing this morning,” said Golden Knights fan, Linda Reimann.

T-shirts and hats are $30 each. Right now you can only purchase two of each item. The Arsenal is expected to open early on Tuesday as well.

The Golden Knights will face the winner of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Washington Capitals series. The Lighting currently leads that series 3-2.

If Tampa does not win Monday night, then Wednesday night’s game will be the deciding factor.
