SWAT commander for LVMPD placed on leave pending criminal investigation
LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) —
A lieutenant who commands the SWAT team for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has been relieved of duty and place on paid leave pending a criminal investigation.
Lt. Tom Melton was placed on leave effective Tuesday, according to Officer Laura Meltzer.
The case is being investigated by LVMPD and the Clark County district attorney's office and the results will be presented to the Nevada attorney general.
Melton will remain on leave until the investigation is complete, Meltzer said.
No specifics on the investigation have been released.
