Man killed in drive-by shooting near Arville & Oakey, suspect at large

A man was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in the central valley shortly before midnight.

No suspect was arrested in the 11:39 p.m. Friday shooting on Arville and Oakey, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Police say the victim was found shot on the sidewalk. He was taken to UMC Trauma where he was pronounced dead.

The LVMPD Homicide Section investigation indicated the victim was walking on the west side of the street. Detectives believe a vehicle pulled alongside the victim and did a drive-by shooting. As of this release, no suspects or motive have been identified.

The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
