The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Las Vegas resident Gabriel Valenzuela. He died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide by the Clark County coroner.

Police are investigating a shooting that left a 25-year-old man dead in the southwest valley.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened just after 12 a.m. Wednesday on W. Dewey Drive, near Russell and Lindell roads.

Police say the victim was shot multiple times in his driveway as he arrived home.

Paramedics transported the victim -- whose name not yet been released -- to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Kyomi Kane lives across the street from the victim.

"I heard like four or five gunshots and then a few minutes later I heard screams, so once I heard the screaming, I ran outside to see what was going on and that's when I saw my neighbor out there bleeding," said Kane. "To see my neighbor laying on the ground so close to me, and he was just lifeless, he wasn't moving."

John Vanpatten also lives nearby.

"My wife's talking about putting up cameras," said Vanpatten. "She's a little scared, a little nervous, so ... but I, like, say stuff can happen anywhere."

Officers say witnesses told them they saw a group of men running from the scene. They also found two different kinds of shell casings, meaning there could have been more than one shooter.

Police are looking for approximately four suspects, described as men in their teens to early 20's, who are believed to be involved in the shooting. At this time, no arrests have been made.

"I'm from Chicago and I moved away from there to get away from stuff like this," said Kane.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
