Maybe next time: Man claims winning Primm $191M lottery ticket
California now has a brand new millionaire.
Jack Freney is the Golden State’s latest lucky winner of a massive California Lottery jackpot. Freney matched all six numbers from the $191 million Mega Millions jackpot draw back on January 27.
When asked what he planned on doing with his newfound fortune, Freney said he had only one thing to say about his big win: “This will allow me to correct all the wrong that I have incurred in my lifetime.”
Freney told the California Lottery that he plans on taking the lump sum payout of $114.1 million (less federal taxes).
He bought his lucky ticket in Nipton (San Bernardino County) at Primm Valley Lotto, which is located at Interstate 15 and Stateline. It matched the winning numbers: 61, 53, 54, 17, 37 and Mega number 8.
“Over the past few weeks, we’ve been anxiously waiting to see who won like everyone else. Out here at Primm, we pride ourselves on creating a one-of-a-kind experience and winning a jackpot like this is definitely a one-of-a-kind experience,” said Kerri Matherly, Director of Retail for Primm Valley Resorts.
Primm Valley Lotto, which sells the greatest volume of California Lottery tickets anywhere in the state, is a big winner as well! It will be receiving a $955,000 retailer bonus just for selling the winning ticket. (This bonus is paid from a separate fund and is not deducted from the winner’s prize.)
