Motorcyclist dies in 3-vehicle crash with U-Haul van, RTC bus
LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) —
A motorcyclist was killed in three-vehicle crash that included an RTC bus and a U-Haul van in the central valley shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday.
The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 32-year-old Kevin Cargile. His official cause of death was multiple injuries and the manner was ruled an accident.
Witnesses and evidence at the scene show a 2004 Kawasaki ZX1000 was headed westbound on Tropicana approaching the intersection with Rainbow when a 2010 GMC U-Haul van attempted to turn left from eastbound Tropicana to northbound Rainbow on a green arrow.
The motorcyclist entered the intersection and hit the left front of the turning van. The impact with the U-Haul caused the motorcycle to overturn onto its side. The motorcyclist and rider slid more than 200 feet into the rear of a 2013 New Flyer transit bus that was stopped on the north side of Tropicana Avenue.
The motorcyclist was transported to UMC Trauma and was pronounced deceased.
The death is the 104th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction this year.
No other injuries were reported.
