Nevada not represented at hearing to revive Yucca Mountain nuclear waste dump
LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) —
A new development in the fight over dumping high-level nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain.
Next week, a house subcommittee will hold a hearing looking at legislation to get the nuke dump open.
Governor Brian Sandoval is fighting to stop the move, but a spokeswoman for his office says no one from the Governor's Office is scheduled to take part in the hearing.
Democratic congressman Ruben Kihuen is asking that he be allowed to testify since Nevada won't be represented. He calls the omission "outrageous."
