One person killed in North Las Vegas crash near Cheyenne and Civic Center. (KSNV)

North Las Vegas police are investigating a fatal crash in the northeast valley.

The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 21-year-old Jose Guadalupe Villagrana of North Las Vegas. His official cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries and the manner was ruled an accident.

The crash was reported around 5:35 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and Civic Center Drive.

North Las Vegas Police say two people were in a car headed south on Civic Center near Cheyenne when the driver lost control and hit a pole.

Medics on the scene pronounced a 21-year-old passenger dead.

Police say the driver stayed on the scene and cooperated. Police also don’t believe impairment was an issue.

No word yet if both people were wearing seat belts or if the driver was speeding.

This is the second traffic fatality in the City of North Las Vegas in 2018.
