Pedestrian hit and killed by vehicle near Spring Mountain and Decatur identified
LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) —
A woman is dead after being hit by a vehicle on Thursday night.
The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 57-year-old Kelly Elizabeth Paylor. Her official cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries from an auto vs. pedestrian collision and the manner was ruled an accident.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, around 10:30 p.m. police responded to the intersection of W. Spring Mountain Road and Stober Boulevard.
Officers say a 57-year-old woman was crossing Spring Mountain southbound. A Pontiac Grand Am was traveling west on Spring Mountain in the left travel lane.
According to police, the woman was not in a crosswalk when she crossed in front of the approaching Pontiac, which then struck her left side.
The woman was transported to UMC where she died despite all resuscitative efforts.
The driver remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment.
This marks the 42nd traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction in 2017.
