Pedestrian seriously injured in crash at MLK, W. Lake Mead


A man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a car Wednesday morning north of downtown Las Vegas, according to authorities.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police say officers responded Wednesday, July 4, to a crash at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Balzar Avenue just after 9:30 a.m.

Investigators learned the pedestrian, identified as a man in his 30s, was crossing MLK when he was hit by a Porsche Cayman driving south.

The pedestrian was taken to UMC for treatment, and the driver of the Porsche stayed at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
