Man facing murder charges after admitting he shot victim in road rage incident
LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) —
A North Las Vegas man is dead after a road rage incident turns into a shooting near Fort Apache Road and Grand Teton Drive.
Lloyd Ullyott, 68, was identified as the shooting victim by the Clark County coroner's office.
The suspect has been identified as 62-year-old Jim Davis. He is facing a charge of open murder and is booked at the Clark County Detention Center.
Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department say a man was shot and killed about 7:15 p.m. near Crownbeard Street and Swamp Rose Avenue.
LVMPD Lt. Dan McGrath said the road rage incident started at the entrance of the neighborhood and continued a short distance into the community.
The shooter admitted to police he shot the man after the victim blocked him in and walked to his vehicle. The shooter told police he felt threatened before shooting the victim.
Police say if the shooter feared for his life he could have driven away and the entire situation could have been avoided.
The man was taken into custody and faces murder charges.
