Teen killed at park near Sahara, Hollywood
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
A teen is dead after being shot at Lewis Family Park near Sahara Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard.
The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Tree Line Drive.
Arriving officers located an unresponsive 16-year-old juvenile in the 6400 block of American Beauty with a gunshot wound. The victim was declared deceased at the scene by medical personnel.
The LVMPD Homicide investigation indicated that the victim and his friends met with two suspects which led to an argument and then a physical fight. The fight escalated when both the victim and the suspect discharged their firearms. One of the rounds struck the victim in the upper body. The suspects left the scene prior to officer’s arrival.
It is believed this incident could be narcotics-related.
The suspects are described as:
-Hispanic Male, 16-18-years-old, medium build with facial hair
-Hispanic Male, 16-18-years-old, medium build
The suspect vehicle is described as a small black or dark blue Toyota or Honda with black rims and loud exhaust.
The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
