Police: Arizona man gives daughter gun, tells her to kill herself
KINGMAN, Ariz. (KSNV) —
A Fort Mohave, Ariz., man has been arrested after police say he gave his daughter a gun and told her to kill herself.
Ulys Laffette Bell IV, 38, is facing charges of felony disorderly conduct with a weapon, felony child abuse and misdemeanor endangerment, according to a Mohave County Sheriff’s Office news release.
School officials called police Monday afternoon after the 14-year-old female student reported her father’s actions. Deputies said that the suspect admitted to the offense, advising the gun was not loaded.
He indicated he has had disciplinary issues with his daughter. He gave her a 9mm handgun and told her to pull the trigger.
Bell was booked into the Mohave County jail without incident.
