People inside the South Point Casino arena were forced to evacuate for a half-hour Saturday night because of what was described as a security concern.

“At South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa the safety and security of our guests and employees is our first priority,” a spokeswoman for the resort told News 3 in an email. “At this time, we can confirm the Arena was evacuated at approximately 5:00 PM due to a security concern.

“The situation was investigated and all guests were back in the Arena by 5:30. The property is open to the public and operating normally.”

The guests were outside during the hottest time of the day, with Las Vegas tying its high of 114 degrees for July 15.
