Mandatory fall watering schedule to begin Friday

Las Vegas Valley Water District (KSNV)

Mandatory watering restrictions limit landscape irrigation to three assigned days per week from Sept. 1 through Oct. 31, according to the Las Vegas Valley Water District. Watering on Sundays is prohibited.

Watering on days other than assigned watering days and watering during restricted hours are considered water waste and may result in a fee.

Fall drip irrigation

During fall, we recommend that you run your drip irrigation system in a single cycle of 30 to 90 minutes, two days a week. The length of each watering should be determined by the emitter flow rate, soil type and weather conditions. Experts agree that running drip irrigation less frequently is much better for plants than daily watering. See our drip watering tips for details.

Standard time change

Don't forget to set your irrigation clock ahead an hour when standard time begins on the first Sunday in November at 2 a.m. This also is a great time to check your clock's batteries.
