Suspect sought in deadly shooting near Cheyenne, Civic Center in North Las Vegas
NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KSNV) —
UPDATE, May 16 | The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the man killed in Monday night's shooting as 24-year-old Maurice Williams of North Las Vegas.
Williams died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the coroner's office, and his death has been ruled a homicide.
In a statement released Wednesday, North Las Vegas Police say their investigation indicates the victim was walking through an apartment complex parking lot when another man took out a gun and shot him.
The gunman was able to get away before officers arrived, and suspect information remains unavailable.
ORIGINAL | Authorities say they are looking for the suspect behind a deadly shooting reported late Monday night in North Las Vegas.
Officer Aaron Patty with the North Las Vegas Police Department said officers responded to a report of a shooting at about 11:30 p.m. Monday, May 14, in the 3300 block of Civic Center Drive, north of Cheyenne Avenue.
They found a man, identified as a 24-year-old, who was shot twice. He was taken to UMC, where he later died, according to Patty.
No suspect information was immediately available.
