Two suspects in shooting arrested after short chase ends near Sahara, Hollywood
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
Two suspects are in custody in connection with a shooting after a short chase ended in the east valley Wednesday morning, according to authorities.
Two brothers were in the area of Stewart Avenue and Radwick Drive at about 1:55 a.m. Wednesday when two other men with handguns approached them, said Lt. David Gordon with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
One of the brothers got into an altercation with one of the robbers, which resulted in the brother being shot.
The two suspects drove away in a Toyota Camry, but officers spotted them in the area of Stewart and Radwick, leading to a short car chase, Gordon said.
The suspect car hit a traffic sign in the area of Sahara Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard, and the two men ran from the car, leading to a foot chase.
They were eventually caught and taken into custody in a neighborhood southwest of the intersection, according to Gordon. No other suspects are believe to be at large.
The victim in the shooting was able to get to a hospital on his own, and police say he suffered two gunshot wounds that are not believed to be life-threatening.
No other information was immediately available.
