A man taking out money at a Wells Fargo ATM just after 5 a.m. received the scare of his life.

Robbery detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department say two men approached the victim and pulled out a gun just as the man withdrew money. The robbery happened near Boulder Highway and Twain Avenue.

The two suspects took the cash and jumped over an apartment complex wall that's right by the Wells Fargo bank.

Ron McCarthy is a Wells Fargo customer who usually comes to this bank.

"ATMs are being used all the time. I'm sure there is always going to be someone waiting at the ATM for somebody to get some cash out," said McCarthy.

Police say the robbery victim was unharmed.

James Smith, another Wells Fargo customer, says it is always troubling to hear about ATM robberies.

"My heart goes out to the guy," said Smith. "I hope he is ok and everything. Just think it's not fair. People work hard for their money."

Detectives describe the suspects as two black men in their 30's with medium builds. One was shirtless with khaki shorts and the other was wearing a green shirt and shorts.

Smith tells us it's important the suspects are caught.

"No one should be afraid to go to the ATM. Just coming out of the house you don't need to be afraid. I just think it's an unnecessary crime," said Smith.
