UNLV holds remembrance ceremony for victims of 1 October shooting
LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) —
UNLV paused on Thursday to honor the 58 lives lost a little more than a month ago in the tragedy that shook Las Vegas.
The emotional remembrance ceremony took place Thursday on campus. Students and alumni who survived the shooting chose to focusing on the heroes that night, and their resolve to move forward.
“Personally I'm going to remember the good rather than the evil, the heroes rather than the coward,” said shooting survivor Nick Robone.
The message of “Vegas Strong” resonates among many who are still grieving, but are also united in hope.
“I'm thankful that in the midst of one man doing his worst, I saw it bring out the best in so many," said Karessa Royce, another survivor.
