Valley HOA may dim Christmas spirit in one Henderson neighborhood
HENDERSON (KSNV) —
Nothing puts you into the Christmas spirit more than a brightly decorated neighborhood.
Just ask Henderson resident John Bobowitz.
“Oh yeah, we’ve been here since 2013, and that’s when we started decorating with everybody,” said Bobowitz.
The annual tradition has turned into a friendly competition of sorts, with neighbors in his Inspirada Community adding one or two extra items each year.
No one, of course, willing to be outdone.
But this year, according to Bobowitz, there was a glitch.
“We got a letter in the mail that there was a violation. We apparently had some lights in the common area and they told us to remove them,” said Bobowitz.
The warning letter arrived this week.
The HOA for Inspirada, they say, citing a bylaw that prohibits items or obstructions in common areas, that means anything past the sidewalk.
News 3 reached out to the HOA for clarification but didn’t receive a response.
Bob and his neighbors say they understand they are risking citation and fines, but say the lights are staying.
