Wheelchair-bound man, 89, struck by truck near Charleston & Decatur


An elderly man in a wheelchair was struck by a gold truck in the near west valley this afternoon. His injuries do not appear life-threatening.

The accident occurred at Alpine and Brush shortly before 2 p.m., according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

"The man was reported to be 89 years old and he was transported to UMC. His injuries do not appear life-threatening," said LVMPD Officer Jacinto Rivera.

The driver of the gold truck reported the collision and stayed at the scene, Rivera said.
