Woman dies when pickup rolls off steep road near Mt. Charleston
MOUNT CHARLESTON, Nev. (KSNV News3LV) —
A woman was killed when her pickup truck rolled off State Route 158 in one of the steepest parts of the Mt. Charleston area.
The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 29-year-old Leah George Ann Nicholas of Las Vegas. Her official cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries and the manner was ruled an accident.
The Nevada Highway Patrol said the pickup left the roadway about 10:34 a.m. Sunday at mile marker 2 on State Route 158 near the intersection with State Route 157 on the Lee Canyon side of the mountain.
The woman died at the scene. Radio traffic indicated the pickup rolled into a ravine about 70 to 80 feet below the roadway.
There were no other passengers.
