LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) —
Metro is investigating a death called "suspicious" at a downtown Las Vegas casino after a woman was found dead early Sunday morning in a laundry chute.
Citrus Heights, Calif. resident Kalli Medina-Brown, 26, was identified by the Clark County coroner's office. The cause and manner of death are still undetermined.
Medina-Brown was found around 2:40 a.m. at The D, 301 Fremont St., according to Metro Officer Laura Meltzer.
Metro homicide detectives were called to the scene when officers noticed some things that did not appear consistent with a fall. Officers are awaiting a ruling from the coroner's office about the cause of death.
The Clark County coroner's office has not yet ruled on the cause and manner of death of the victim.
A statement released by Lorena Amaya, director of public relations for The D, said: "We are saddened by the unfortunate incident that took place at the D Las Vegas. We are cooperating with the authorities and cannot comment on the ongoing investigation."
