Raiders head to NYC to talk Vegas move
LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) —
For the Oakland Raiders, a dream season is over. In 2016, the team of young stars broke a streak of losing records with its first playoff berth since 2002.
They then watched it end in a loss to the Houston Texans. Now, the next step in a new dream.
The Oakland Raiders are headed to New York City to meet with the NFL about a new home in Las Vegas.
County Commissioner Steve Sisolak has regular talks with Oakland ownership and tells us the meeting is another pitch.
“I’ve had a couple of good talks had one today. They’re heading to New York to meet with the stadium people and the finance people," said Sisolak.
The Commissioner told us in his office: “it’s important... it's important the league wants to know what’s going on. They’ve been hands-on, they want to get this established and finalized before it gets too far out of the season.”
The team brass headed to New York City to present its stadium and financial plan to league officials in a Wednesday meeting.
No timetable yet on when owners will vote on the team’s future.
