Bark in the park headed back to Henderson

Henderson will host the 14th Annual Bark In the Park at Cornerstone Park, 1600 Wigwam Pkwy on March 4.

The event also includes a 5K fun run for canine companions and human friends.

The Rover Run 5K will begin at 9 a. m. and the Bark in the park will begin at 10 a. m. - 2 p. m.

Residents are encouraged to bring their canine companions to Cornerstone Park for the 14th Annual Bark In the Park event. Admission is free.

The dog-friendly event features contests, Atomic Dogs flyball demonstrations, pet-oriented vendor booths and pet adoptions. Members of the Henderson Police Department will also be on hand with their K-9 partners to host demonstrations.

Registration is $35 per person prior to March 3, with day-of registration $40 per person.

The first 350 registered participants will receive a T-shirt and a finisher dog tag for their dog’s collar. Use activity code 151234-58 when registering online or in person at one of the city’s recreation centers or at the park the day of the event.

All dogs must be leashed and under the control of a handler at least 10 years old. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

Also, overflow parking and shuttle services will be available from RC Willey, 20 N. Stephanie St. starting at 9:45 a.m.
