Baby gray whale spotted in Orange County harbor
A baby gray whale stole the show at a Southern California harbor this week. The whale was spotted getting close to shore in Orange County.
It swam near paddleboarders and kayakers, but didn't seem to be in any obvious distress.
Sheriff's department officials used hoses to try to usher the whale out of the harbor.
The same 15-foot juvenile whale may have also been spotted Monday in a Carlsbad lagoon.
Residents there said the baby seemed to be playing in the shallow waters.
