It's hard to believe it's almost December! With a new month comes a new First Friday and this month's theme is "Art of Movement."

First Friday Development Director Corey Fagan, and the head of the dance department at Las Vegas Academy Jeane Galo Huggins were on Wake Up With the CW to tell us all about it.

Key elements for this month include:

  • First Friday's Featured Artist – Jesse Hudson, Las Vegas native, offers interactive art installations, as well as displaying his photography. He states, “To expand different perspectives of the world is all I would love to do.”
  • Live entertainment abounds – with entertainment provided by 5:00 PM Deblanc, 6:00 PM Las Vegas Academy students, 7:30 PM TEEJ, 8:30PM Joey & Jazzy, 9:45PM Spectrum.
  • Movement themed: RTC Bike Share celebrates with a movement project, Boys and Girls Club offers a kids dance off party and Roller Girls moving throughout the event.
  • Tiny house coming to First Friday from Alternative Living Spaces Inc. Share a cup of hot cocoa and play games at the Alternative Living Spaces booth.
  • FIRST FRIDAY FOOTPRINT – Once again, the main stage moves to south end of Art Way parking lot. Majority of artists/vendors move to First Street, extending to Hoover. Premium Parking available in lot in front of Mission building and Art Square (accessed via Coolidge and South Casino Center Blvd.).

First Friday's website, www.firstfridaylasvegas.com, is active, and applications for artists and vendors are currently being accepted for next month’s event.
