Salvation Army Southern Nevada collecting donations for Las Vegas relief efforts

We have seen the community come together in so many ways this week and the Salvation Army is another place for people to donate to relief efforts during this difficult time.

Major Cheryl Kinnamon of The Salvation Army Southern Nevada is here to tell us how we can help.

The Salvation Army Southern Nevada is asking those who wish to donate to relief efforts in the wake of the Las Vegas mass shooting to do so with monetary donations. Visit www.salvationarmysouthernevada.org to access the donation fund.

Since Monday morning, The Salvation Army has received donations of approximately 36 pallets of bottled water -- including over 62,000 total bottles -- eight pallets of juices and other beverages, and seven pallets of snack food items.

Salvation Army officers from around the country are in Las Vegas offering emotional and spiritual care at hospitals across the metropolitan area, and Salvation Army staff and volunteers are assisting other officers in providing food and hydration from Emergency Disaster Services mobile canteens for people waiting to donate at blood banks.
