Skulls hung in protest of Norwegian government ordering reindeer slaughter
OLSO, Norway —
Hundreds of reindeer skulls went on display in Norway, part of an art installation created as a protest. The installation went up because the artist's brother is appealing a government order to slaughter almost his entire herd of reindeer.
The artist created it as a way of expressing her opposition to the government, which had ordered her brother to slaughter almost his entire herd of reindeer.
He went to court - and won in the lower courts. now the government is appealing to Norway's supreme court.
And just this week, the court began processing the appeal.
It's the reindeer herder's third time facing the government in court over his case.
