Las Vegas local and gold medal Olympian, Cody Miller received the key to the Las Vegas Strip during a ceremony at Desert Breeze Aquatic Center Monday afternoon.

Clark County Commissioner Susan Brager honored Miller alongside the Sandpipers of Nevada swim team.

Miller had a strong showing during the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He swam away with a bronze medal in the 100-meter breaststroke, setting a new American record with his time. Then, alongside Team USA captain Michael Phelps, Miller brought home the gold in the 400-meter medley relay event. During the relay, Miller helped the United States set an Olympic record.

“It is an honor to recognize Cody Miller for his outstanding success at the Olympics, said Commissioner Brager, whose Commission District F includes the southwest valley and Desert Breeze. “Cody is a true champion whose dedication and hard work set an inspiring example to young athletes in our community and throughout the world.”
