Sports Night: Disappointing day on the track for local cup driver Kyle Busch

Sports Night in Las Vegas (KSNV)

It was another disappointing day on the track for local cup driver Kyle Busch. Racing at Talladega and leading the last 48 laps, Busch was passed on the final lap in overtime and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. took the checkered flag.

Busch is still winless in Monster Energy Cup races this year. Kurt Busch finished 6th.

It was a good old fashioned butt kick for Saul Canelo Alvarez winning every round Saturday night in his super fight with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at T-Mobile Arena.

Shortly after the scorecards favoring Alvarez 120-108 were read, Gennady Golovkin entered the ring and it was announced that Triple “G” will fight Canelo on Sept. 16.

Meanwhile, the UNLV Women’s and Men’s golf teams will be busy over the next few weeks as they will be playing in NCAA Regional tournaments. We hear from Men’s coach Dwaine Knight who leads his team to a record 29th straight regional.

Also, NBC Sports radio host Helen Yee from the show “Eyes on the Game” stops by to talk about how much the sports scene has changed in the town she grew up in.
