Nathan O'Neal lives to tell stories. He joined the News 3 team in August 2014 after spending two years reporting at KVOA-TV in Tucson, Ariz. Nathan covered immigration stories extensively, including an influx of unaccompanied minors crossing the border illegally from Central America. He also gained exclusive access into Arizona's medical marijuana industry.
Nathan earned his master's and bachelor's degrees at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University (Go Sun Devils!). He also worked internships with ABC News' 'This Week with Christiane Amanpour' and several TV stations in Phoenix.
Nathan's work earned him 1st place in the Hearst Journalism Awards for Broadcast Television. He also was awarded a Robert F. Kennedy Award in Journalism for a documentary about immigration issues in the Dominican Republic. Nathan is an alumus of the Institute on Political Journalism.
Originally from the small copper mining community of Globe, Ariz., Nathan loves spending time with family, friends and his feisty dog named "Vosot."
