Power back for nearly all of 30,000 customers around Clark County
UPDATE, July 10 | Power has been restored Tuesday morning for nearly all of the customers affected by Monday night's outage.
A little more than 800 customers were still without power in Clark County as of Tuesday, down from the more than 30,000 affected by weather-related outages the night before.
NV Energy's outage site lists 6:45 a.m. as the expected time for power to be restored in almost all cases.
ORIGINAL | More than 30,000 customers are currently without power according to NV Energy's website.
According to NV Energy's website, majority of the outages were caused by lightning.
With numerous power outages due to tonight's storms, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department would like to remind viewers "if you are driving and come to an intersection where the power is out, they must come to a full and complete stop and assure the intersection is clear before proceeding."
"It would also be helpful to remind drivers that they should not cross streets or intersections that have water rushing through them," said Larry Hadfield with LVMPD.
NV Energy says at this time, crews are working quickly and safely as possible to restore power to those affected.
