Las Vegas acrobat tries his luck on NBC's American Ninja Warrior
LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV.com) -- Tonight at 8 p.m. on NBC, American Ninja Warrior returns for its 7th season and the obstacles are harder than ever before.
This season 23 new obstacles have been added to the challenging course and $1,000,000 is still on the line, but first the contestants must qualify.
Among more than 700 contestants expected to try their luck at the 2015 course is local acrobat Almas Meirmanov.
Maybe you have seen him wowing crowds high above the floor of the Absinthe tent at Caesars Palace.
He is one of three talented acrobats who close out the show with their high wire act night after night.
"I've been following Ninja Warrior for a little over three years now and I submitted a compilation video of different performances I've done in the past. Absinthe being one of them as well. And the producers really liked what they saw and were like, 'Hey! Come on board!' They gave me a call and 3 weeks later I was in Venice Beach, California," says Meirmanov.
Tonight, Meirmanov joins his accomplished peers to push, pull and climb over the American Ninja Warrior obstacle course in Venice Beach, CA.
If there is one thing that sets our local warrior apart it's his confidence and talent.
"For me I think the advantage is the fact that I've been in front of large crowds. I'm very familiar in terms of how to handle myself under pressure," says Meirmanov.
Does he have what it takes to make it past the qualifying rounds? You have to watch to find out!
