EDC Day One: 135K attend, 22 felony drug arrests

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) - The sun has risen, so the first day of the Electric Daisy Carnival is in the history books.

Insomniac Productions says 135,000 people attended overnight Friday at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS). They noted 36 people were ejected for various and unspecified reasons.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports law enforcement made 22 felony drug arrests and six DUI alcohol arrests.

There were seven traffic accidents, none of them fatal.

Medical calls totaled 193, with five being transported to area hospitals. The number does not include medical walk-ins.

Three traffic citations and two misdemeanor citations were written.

Day Two of the annual electronic musical festival begins Saturday evening at LVMS.

Metro Police officers made several drug arrests in the days leading up to EDC.
