From the fashion to the impromptu performances on the red carpet, the Billboard Music Awards for 2018 are in the books, and it was magnetic before the show even began.

Cheat Codes serenaded News 3’s Heather Mills on the red carpet, singing their song with Demi Lovato, "No Promises," a cappella.

What was promised, however, was an epic night.

The energy was off the charts, with stars walking the red carpet right after the Golden Knights sealed their Stanley Cup spot.

“I’m excited for Las Vegas," Derek Hough said. "It’s amazing. I saw the statue of Liberty at New York-New York, wearing the jersey. Very cool.”

He added, “By the way, very cool elaborate openings. But, you wouldn’t be Vegas if you didn’t do that, right?”

Jennifer Lopez, who has her own residency on the Las Vegas Strip, showed off her blinged-out nails on the carpet as she prepped for her performance of her new single, "Dinero."

She said she was “super-excited, the video comes out on Thursday, and we’re just getting ready.”

Lopez was among many women on stage. Others were just eager to watch.

“A lot of divas," Jesse McCartney said. "Ariana [Grande] is performing, all the big girls, y'know, all the girls tonight are taking over the stage, which I love.”

"Dude, honestly, I love Cardi B, I love T-Swift [Taylor Swift], so I don’t know," Gold medalist Chloe Kim said.
